Welcome to Cottonwood Creek Elementary:
I bet you’re incredibly excited to be sending your little hippo to their first year of school. Please know that I am just as excited as you are and I can’t wait to get the year started.
This will be my third year in Hutto ISD and I would like to take the time to let you know a little bit about myself and my background.
I am originally from Rockwall, Texas which is in the Dallas area. I am the youngest of three and have two older brothers. I grew up in the country and loved to ride horses and go on trail rides with my dad. I made my way down to Austin to attend the University of Texas where I received my Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary Education. Hook’em Horns!!! I was raised to bleed orange and I am a huge Longhorn fan that can’t wait for football season to start! After I graduated from UT in 2008 my new husband and I realized that we enjoyed Austin too much to move back home, and decided to stay here to raise our family. We have been married for seven years and we have three beautiful girls. Melania will be six next month, Audrina recently turned four and Mia just turned two. We were also finally blessed with a baby boy last November. Sweet baby Roman is now 9 months old. All together, they keep us very busy but we love every second of it!
This will be my fourth year to teach Kindergarten and I cannot express to you how excited I am. Throughout my experiences, I have to say that teaching the “little ones” is above all my favorite age group to teach and I have a wonderful Kindergarten team of teachers to collaborate with.
I have an open door policy and believe that communication is key, so please let me know of any questions or concerns you may have right away. I am also a firm believer in the importance of parent involvement and strongly urge you to participate in your child’s education by becoming a volunteer, as well as reinforcing their learning at home. You will receive weekly newsletters as well as email updates from us letting you know what exciting things the students are learning about in class.
There are many things that your child will experience for the first time in Kindergarten and that will be very exciting for them. Over the next year you will see tremendous growth both academically and socially, and I will make it my priority to ensure that every student is more than prepared to continue on to the next level in their education by the time they leave my class. I just can’t wait to get started on the great things we will accomplish together this year!!
Go Hutto Hippos!!
