Welcome to Hand in Hand

We believe that the first and most important teachers in a child’s life are  their parents, therefore we encourage families to become involved in every part  of their child’s learning process.

This program is an all-inclusive model, servicing children all along the developmental continuum, facilitating the development of friendship, social interaction, and the celebration of diversity.

Hippo's Hand in Hand provides students with opportunities for social interaction, choices of activities, and is child centered with teacher facilitation to assist children in acquiring independence and love of learning.

What is PPCD?

PPCD stands for: Preschool Program for Children with Disabilities

The PPCD program provides classroom-based and support services to eligible 3, 4, and 5 year old children. Eligibility is determined through a play based assessment by our district assessment team.
Parent-professional collaboration is an integral part of the  PPCD program.

Hutto ISD has implemented the Hand in Hand program. The purpose of the Hand in Hand classroom is to provide an opportunity for students with special needs to be educated with their typically developing peers.

Classroom Staff

The staff in our classroom consists of one special education teacher and  2 instructional assistants, all of whose primary goal is to provide your child with a nurturing, stimulating program.

A speech/language pathologist, an occupational therapist, a physical therapist, and school nurse may also provide services in the classroom at different times as well.
